Just now you decided that enough is enough and you are not gonna fap at any cost from now onwards, and you stick to your decision and passed 6 days on nofap.

After completing a week you got scared because now nothing is exciting you, no libido, no hunger for sex, just silence, and you are getting thoughts like, does nofap really provide benefits or not? should I watch porn again?

Before you relapse, I wanna tell you something, it’s very common between fapastronauts and it is known as “nofap flatline”.

You don’t need to be scared because you will have to face this stage of nofap, it’s a part of the journey.

What Is NoFap Flatline

NoFap Flatline: you will feel like you are at your lowest point. Throughout this challenge, there will be a period where you feel really low.

Your energy will be low and you will not have any sexual urges. You might also get cold or flu-like symptoms.

Don’t be scared because it is a part of the reboot process. You might face this phase once or twice but don’t give up because after a couple of days your mind will become stable again. However, The flatline may range from days to weeks.


10 Symptoms Of Flatline

These are the symptoms you might see during this phase. But they will fade away if you continue your journey.

1:- Brain Fog

Brain fog includes feelings of confusion and disorientation. Brain fog can make a person appear as if the processes of thinking, understanding, and remembering are not working as they should. (1)

2:- Depression

Depression is a dangerous mental illness that can interfere with a person’s life. It can cause long-lasting and difficult feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and a loss of interest in activities. (2)

3:- Low libido

Low libido is a term used to describe a reduction in sex drive that can interfere with sexual activity. While low libido can cause tension in a relationship, raising doubt and guilt in both partners, it can often be treated if the underlying cause is recognized. (3)

4:- Low Confidence

6:- Anxiety

Anxiety is a normal and usually healthy emotion. However, when a person regularly feels excessive levels of anxiety, it might become a medical disorder. Anxiety disorders form a category of mental health diagnoses that drive excessive nervousness, fear, apprehension, and worry. (6)

7:- Weakness

Weakness is the feeling of body fatigue or tiredness. you will definitely gonna feel weaker during the flatline phase. (7)

10:- Feeling like you can’t achieve anything.

Lack of confidence will put you in a place where you will find everything hard and you may feel like you can’t achieve anything in your life but it’s totally not true.

After a couple of days when this phase will go away, confidence will come back, and then you will feel like you can achieve anything in your life.

In the short term, the answer is yes, it is a normal process of rehabilitation. Many people who used to fap excessively meet this stage once or more than once during nofap.

It’s just a hint of your brain healing from extreme amounts of dopamine release and masturbating all day long.

My Story

After when I decided that I will be on nofap, I was curious about what type of benefits I will get from it, but after being on the journey for just 4-5 days I noticed that my mind just stopped thinking about sex, no energy at all, and no sexual urges at all.

it was a little shocking for me, I thought I did something wrong and I got some kind of disease.

I searched it on the web, found a couple of articles about it and got to know that it’s called “flatline”.

I found that I am not the only one who is going through this process, many people are facing the same.

After reading those articles, I continued my journey and after some days flatline started to fade away.

Nothing, just stay on nofap, you might face this issue a little bit longer than me or someone other but don’t relapse at any cost cause you know how it feels like after relapse.

If you relapsed just because of the stupid flatline phase then sorry nofap is not for you, try something else to change your destiny.

So, I have some tips which may help you to distract your mind from thinking about flatline.

These methods are tried and tested by me and the people who have completed their 90 days mark.

1:- Listen to party songs

Party songs or songs which can excite you to listen to those kinds of song cause it will make you feel positive which you need during this phase.

Don’t listen to sad songs cause those songs can hurt you even more and you may start to feel low which means more prone to relapse.

2:- Take A Cold Shower

A cold shower Affects the brain and helps to focus on other things rather than a flatline.

If you are suffering from a hard time and you are about to fall, try a cold shower, it will help you to escape from relapsing.

3:- Read Books

Not only does regular reading help make you smarter, but it can truly enhance your brainpower. Just like going for a jog exercises your cardiovascular system, reading regularly increases memory function by giving your brain good work out and you need to be strong during this period by the body and by brain otherwise, you will relapse.

4:- Meditation And Yoga

Meditation and yoga reduce stress and make you calmer and improve your decision-making strength which is extremely important if you wanna go on nofap for longer.

5:- Go To The Gym

Going gym and working makes your brain strong because Regular exercise can have an extremely positive impact on depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more. It also reduces stress, improves memory, helps you sleep better, and boosts your overall mood.

6:- Hangout Some Time With Your Friends

Go enjoy moments of life with your friends. Killing time with friends is fun, but it may also yield many long-term physical and emotional health benefits. Researches show that healthy relationships make aging more enjoyable, reduce grief, and provide camaraderie to help you reach personal goals, among other things.

7:- Watch A Motivational Movie

Some movies have a special place in our hearts. I love watching movies and whenever I see those kinds of movies that encourage as to do something, I feel great.
