Since I added the habit of meditation to my daily routine, I have changed myself pretty much.

In this article we gonna learn how meditation and yoga affect your nofap journey, and how it helps to keep you on the right track.

You may have heard a lot of physicians and doctors saying you should do at least 10 minutes of meditation on a daily basis, but do you know why they say this, some of you might know but those who don’t know, let me tell you all.

It is the best thing in the world, and when you combine it with Nofap, you feel like a superhuman.

Nofap and meditation, is there any connection between both?

Why we are doing nofap?

To erase the vulgarity, and to calm our self down. Meditation is the same, we should do it to help our brain that fights every day when you are on nofap to delete the garbage of pornography present in your mind.

(Hey, Do porn and masturbation preventing you from becoming the best version of yourself? If yes then please check out Reboot Cure once Featured in TheGuardian, Inc, Forbes).

Meditation is the secret weapon to fight pornography and masturbation.

Nofap is hard and you have to find unique ideas to suppress the cravings.

Some people listen to songs (which is a great idea), some do exercise and some try to invest their time in developing their skills.

However, if you are a guy who is alone and doesn’t do any of these things to suppress those feelings then it is a sign of worry because you will be going to face strong cravings on days 6 or 7 and the chances of you relapsing are quite high.

I can bet you. You won’t gonna complete 90 days challenge if you will not do anything to change your daily habit.

These things listed below are the alternative things to do rather than watching porn.

  • Reading a book
  • Taking shower whenever you feel like you are about relapse
  • Using porn blockers
  • Maintaining distance from social media (Especially Instagram)
  • Going to the gym regularly
  • Completing at least 10 minutes of Yoga or mediation session.
  • Pinching yourself whenever you are thinking to leave the track.

Nofap requires self-motivation and determination, it is not easy when you first start but when you keep going, it starts to develop as a habit.

Try adding 10 minutes of meditation in your daily routine after day 6 or 7 because in these particular days chances of relapsing increase because your testosterone increases by as much as 45% according to PubMed when you stop ejaculating.

When we take a deep breath, it eases our minds and helps to eliminate negative thoughts. In meditation, we close our eyes and focus on our breath and it is highly impactful to keep those distracting thoughts away from us.

Everyday meditation leads to less negative or distracting thoughts and helps to fill our minds with positive emotions and creates a positive vibe.

Meditation Makes You Feel Confident

meditation confidence

One of the main reasons for practicing nofap is to develop confidence in ourselves, meditation also helps to boost confidence.

According to research by the National Institutes of Health, meditation can help with combating symptoms of anxiety and depression. But meditation can also increase your self-esteem through the comfort of thoughts and acceptance of self.

Self-acceptance is important for self-confidence. Self-acceptance means that you understand who you truly are and where your strengths and weaknesses lie.

You know what you want. This will allow you to be comfortable with your place in the world and be honest with yourself. If you can build your self-confidence, you will live a life free of self-criticism.

Meditation is a return to love. It will teach you to respect yourself, forgive yourself, and finally love yourself. It creates a clear path to real peace and happiness. The place to start is exactly where you are – as you are.

I know how it feels after a relapse, and that is why I have created a program that’ll help you quit porn and masturbation addiction, check out Reboot Cure (Featured in TheGuardian, Inc, Forbes)

Benefits of meditation

  • Reduces Stress – Most of the people who practice meditation is because they want to decrease stress. A study with the help of 1,300 adults showed that meditation may decrease stress. Notably, this effect was most effective in individuals with the highest levels of stress.
  • Controls Anxiety – Less stress means less anxiety. There are multiple studies done that claim that meditation reduces anxiety. A study followed up with 18 volunteers three years after they had completed an eight-week meditation program. Most volunteers had continued practicing regular meditation and maintained lower anxiety levels over the long term.
  • May Help In Fighting A Addiction (Source – Healthline.com) – The mental discipline you can develop through meditation may help you break dependencies by increasing your self-control and awareness of triggers for addictive behaviors. Research has shown that meditation may help people learn to redirect their attention, increase their willpower, control their emotions and impulses and increase their understanding of the causes behind their addictive behaviors.

There are two types of meditation

(Source:- Gaiam.com)

1:- Concentration Meditation

Concentration meditation means focusing on a single point. This could involve following the breath, repeating a single word or mantra, staring at a candle flame, listening to a repetitive gong, or counting beads on a mala. Since concentrating on the mind is challenging, a beginner might meditate for only a few minutes and then work up to longer durations.

In this form of meditation, you just refocus your awareness on the chosen object of attention each time you notice your mind wandering. Rather than pursuing random thoughts, you simply let them go. Through this process, your ability to concentrate improves.

2:- Mindfulness Meditation

Mindfulness meditation encourages the practitioner to observe wandering thoughts as they flow through the mind. The intention is not to get involved with the thoughts or to judge them, but simply to be aware of each mental note as it appears.

Through mindfulness meditation, you can see how your thoughts and feelings tend to move in particular patterns. Over time, you can become more aware of the human tendency to quickly judge an experience as good or bad, pleasant or unpleasant. With practice, an inner balance develops.

In some schools of meditation, students practice a combination of concentration and mindfulness. Many disciplines call for stillness — to a greater or lesser degree, depending on the teacher.

Should You Practice Meditation While On Nofap?

Absolutely yes,

Nofap is difficult and sometimes we need a cool head to handle tough situations in which we inch closer to relapse. Meditation helped me so much in those days when cravings were at their peak. I highly suggest you meditate at least 10 minutes a day, it is only going to give benefits.

    1. I totally understand what you are feeling right now. I think you are alone, right? if it is true then you need to find someone with whom you can interact and share your feelings. if it is not true then you should practice meditation half an hour every day it will help you to tackle those nervy moments.

      1. i m very addictive to masturbation.. now i am trying to stop it and start meditation but i am facing too much difficulties in meditation like headache and losing focus… can u help me by letting me know the science behind it.. by which i can understand what is happening to me and why. is there any link between meditation and no fap, means if we are not practicing no fap then we are unable to meditate????

        1. Losing focus while meditating is quite common among beginners. You just need to relax and focus on your breathing. Do it just for 5 minutes, you don’t need to jump directly for 30 minutes. Even 5 minutes of mediation is enough to calm your brain down. If 5 minutes are also long for you, then go 2 minutes, but do it. I used to struggle as well, but my focus increased over time.

According to Mayoclinic.org, Meditation can give you a sense of calm, peace, and balance that can benefit both your emotional well-being and your overall health. And these benefits don’t end when your meditation session ends.

Some benefits: better focus and concentration, improved self-awareness and self-esteem, lower levels of stress and anxiety.

All the best for your NoFap journey!

    1. Those who engage more in pornography find it hard to communicate and share their feelings with others. When they’ll stop watching it, it would be easy for them to communicate and make new friends.

    1. NoFap helps to eliminate porn-related thoughts, and that helps us to stay calm.
Calmness is quite important for mediation. That’s why people who follow Nofap don’t feel too much difficulty while practicing mediation.
